The standard fares were contained in a memorandum of agreement which was signed by transport association heads in the presence of Bgy. The standard fares will be in effect for a year, though open for review as needed, and is applicable for UPMin personnel, students, and their parents. The agreement was the product of discussions among the tricycle and motorcab operators and the UPMin transport committee, formed by Vice-Chancellor for Administration Leo Manuel Estana and chaired by Asst. Prof. Angelo Regalado. Manuel Chiong Jr. signed for the UP Tricycle Operators & Drivers Association (UP-TODA) and Alexander Cabillo for the New United Motorcab Drivers Association of Mintal (NUMODA).

Chairperson Bargamento told the drivers that the agreement would be a benefit to them, considering UPMin’s student population.

“This is a first for us, wherein UPMin entered into an agreement with our transport operators for the welfare of our UPMin constituents,” said Chancellor Murao.
