UP Vice President for Digital Transformation Peter Sy urged UP Mindanao units and personnel to expedite campus digital transformation and development projects in a meeting in UP Mindanao on November 20, 2025.

In the meeting, VP Sy told the UPMin officials to hasten the adoption of paperless systems for various university and government processes. “I know it won’t be easy, but we can learn from and be helped by the UP Los Baños and UP Manila experience when they did their transition,” he said.

VP Sy also emphasized the implementation and completion of UP Mindanao’s information and communication technology infrastructure and the campus building projects.

“You need to stretch your absorptive capacity in project management and expedite your fund utilization in anticipation of additional capital outlay in 2026,” he said.

“This is your opportunity to hasten campus development that may not come again for a long time,” he said.

In response, Information Technology Director Vic Calag and Vice-Chancellor for Administration Leo Manuel Estaña shared with VP Sy updates on the adoption of various digital platforms and systems, and the status of information technology and building infrastructure.
