Executive Order No. 64, series of 2025, authorizes the grant of a Medical Allowance to each qualified government civilian employee in the amount not exceeding P7,000.00 per annum, as a subsidy to avail of health maintenance organization-type benefits. In line with this order, the Human Resource Development Office (HRDO) has facilitated forums for personnel for this purpose.
“We brought some HMO providers recently, Freedom Life and Maxicare. These are the available providers that we can explore,” said HRDO Chief Lynda Buenaobra. “Last Friday, we had Philhealth to orient us on their Yakap program. Yakap is the new program from what was formerly called the Konsulta program,” she said.
“Yakap is available to everyone, provided we have a Philhealth number. Whether we have contributed or not to PhilHealth, it is available to everyone. You can visit the PhilHrslth website and look up the Yakap program. This is a program of the government for preventive illness, for outpatient and consultation services. So, the services of the provider for consultation, laboratory testing, and medicine are worth P20,000. This is for free, so let us all register now with any accredited Yakap providers,” she said. “I would like to encourage you to avail of this because this is free of charge, even for your family members, your household members, and your friends,” she said.
“Please disseminate this. This is a free program of the government. So, let us register with accredited Yakap providers. If you have more inquiries, please visit the PhilHealth website,” she said.
