A UP Mindanao delegation contributed quality time and effort to the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary Tree-Growing Activity held at Eden Summer Resort, Barangay Eden, Toril, Davao City, on September 22, 2025.
The Tree-Growing is a nationwide, collaborative initiative led by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service with the theme, “Bawat Kawani, Lingkod Bayani: Puso, Dangal, at Galing Para sa Bayan.”
The initiative involves government employees planting and nurturing trees to promote environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and national well-being. The tree-growing activities included planting indigenous seedlings and fostering a commitment to growing trees from planting to maturity.
The activity’s goals are: To create lasting “oxygen sanctuaries,” enhance climate resilience, promote public well-being, and encourage LGUs to establish tree sanctuaries and community parks.
