UPMin Holds One Billion Rising To End Violence Against Women

One Billion Rising in UPMin

The UP Mindanao community showed its support for the global movement to end violence against women by participating in the One Billion Rising through dance on February 16, 2026. The dance was led by the UP Mindanao Mentefuwaley student organization with the Office of Gender and Development. The dance is the manifestation of support, because “dance is dangerous, joyous, sexual, holy, disruptive, and empowering.”

The UPMin Memtefuwaley student org and the Gender and Development Office receive certificates of appreciation from Chancellor Lyre Anni Murao, Vice-Chancellor Maria Stella Salazar, and University Researcher and Gender Advocate Mitchiko Lopez.
