Asst. Prof. Jean Marie V. Juanga, architect and faculty member of the Department of Architecture, and Prof. Jhoanna Lynn B. Cruz, dean of the College of Humanities and Social Science, extended their support to Architecture Licensure Exam (ALE) 10th-placer Architect Rey Justine Intong with their presence at the OathTaking and Induction Ceremonies of the New Architects, held on July 19, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center Manila.

Prof. Juanga served as Rey Justine Intong’s mentor in preparation for the Architecture Licensure Examination (ALE). As part of the process, she guided Intong through the two-year Diversified Architectural Experience (DAE) and endorsed the required logbook to certify the authenticity and quality of his training.

“Proud mentor moment here!” wrote Architect Juanga.

“The deepest joy of a mentor is witnessing an apprentice student rise to heights they once thought unreachable,” she wrote. “Padayon sa paglambo, Arch. Rey Justine Intong! The world awaits your greatness,” she said.

“Thank you to UP Mindanao board topnotcher, Architect Rey Justine Intong, for the honor of being your dean!” said Dean Jhoanna Cruz. “What a finish to a college degree!” she said.

“I am still somewhat in disbelief of everything that’s happened,” wrote Architect Intong.

“To my mentors, Ar. Jean Marie V. Juanga and Ar. Aspiras…the wealth of knowledge and experience I have gained from my time collaborating with you has been invaluable, and someday I hope to do the same for a future architect,” he said.

“To the University of the Philippines Mindanao, I can’t express how much I enjoyed and cherished my time as a student in your hallowed halls,” he wrote.

“UP education is truly the best in the Philippines. What has stayed with me is the eagerness to continue learning and, hopefully, be a better servant of the Filipino people,” he said.
