Innovative Applications DALISAI Dashboard, INDAI, and DuDONG Introduced at Launch and Learn Event

UP Mindanao’s Project DALISAI unveiled three groundbreaking and innovative digital applications developed to modernize durian farming and agricultural data management in the Philippines at its ‘Launch and Learn’ event held on July 11, 2025, at Eden Nature Park and Resort, Davao City.

“The DALISAI Dashboard is a comprehensive platform that integrates data from `Internet of Things’ (IoT) devices to offer real-time farm analytics,” as stated in the project handout. “It enables farmers and agricultural managers to monitor soil health, environmental conditions, and durian crop development, facilitating data-driven decision-making.

INDAI (INspection of Durian using AI) is an artificial intelligence-powered application designed to perform non-invasive inspection and evaluation of durian maturity and quality. Using computer vision and smart analysis, INDAI enhances postharvest accuracy and supports quality assurance protocols.

DuDONG (Durian Desktop Operated Non-invasive Grading System) is a user-friendly desktop application for non-invasive inspection and evaluation of durian maturity and quality. It bridges the gap between farmers and digital platforms by simplifying the collection and management of on-ground information.”

DALISAI Project Technical Specialist Daniel John Cahatian presents the INDAI application while AI-Durian Project Technical Specialist Marlon Maddara looks on.

The applications were welcomed by stakeholders from the agriculture sector, the academe, government agencies, and the private industry, who witnessed the launch and contributed to the event’s success. Participants cited the relevance and practicality of the applications, their potential to enhance productivity, reduce labor inefficiencies, and improve harvest quality.
The event also featured presentations on project milestones, interactive demonstrations, and a collaborative dialogue on future integration with other agricultural initiatives.

“As Project DALISAI continues to grow, plans are in motion for expanded training programs, deployment to pilot farms, and continuous development based on user feedback,” stated the project organizers. “The Launch and Learn event affirmed the project’s vision to lead digital transformation in Philippine agriculture through innovative, accessible, and intelligent solutions,” they said.

The DALISAI Dashboard was developed by the “Durian Dashboard and Analytics Leveraging Internet of Things [IoT] Systems and Artificial Intelligence” project, which is funded by the UP Intelligent Systems Center. The INDAI and DuDONG applications were developed by the “AI-Durian” project, a DOST-funded project.
