On September 19, 2025, members of the Executive Committee took the “R2-5K Workshop: Architecting Strategic Execution Through Enterprise Architecture, A Pilot Program for UP Mindanao Leaders.”
R2-5K, or the Road to 5,000 Students Enrolled, is UP Mindanao’s priority flagship program, which it aims to achieve using Enterprise Architecture.
Resource person Allan Borra, Enterprise Architect of Sinag Solutions, described EA as “the organizing logic for business processes and IT infrastructure reflecting the integration and standardization requirements of the organization’s operating model.”
The workshop participants explored the role of Enterprise Architecture in education, assessed the current state, and conducted target state visioning. They proceeded through road-mapping and change enablement, discussed appropriate governance and gating structures, and defined immediate actions.
“Just keep in mind the acronym TADU,” said Chancellor Lyre Anni Murao in her opening remarks. “Translate strategic goals into operational actions; Align systems and teams across departments; Design scalable student-centered processes; and Use data to make smart, timely decisions,” she said.
The workshop was aligned with Republic Act 12254, also known as the “E-Governance Act,” which states, “All government agencies shall adopt Enterprise Architecture (EA) as a strategic management and planning discipline to ensure the alignment of their ICT initiatives with their mandates, business processes, and the national digital transformation goals.”
