Employees’ Madayaw Multi-Purpose Coop elect directors in General Assembly

UP Mindanao employees who comprise the membership of the UP Madayaw Multi-Purpose Cooperative Inc. (UPMMPCI) elected Asst. Prof. Leo Manuel Estaña and Analiza Fulvadora as members of the board of directors in its 26th Annual General Assembly on March 28, 2025, at the University Library. Prof. Estaña was elected director for the first time, while Ms. Fulvadora was re-elected to another term. The assembly likewise re-elected members of the Election Committee, namely Michelle Panis, Marievette Gatela, and Coralyn Aborde, to new terms. Likewise, the assembly elected Iraine Louella Rara and re-elected Emma Ruth Caalaman and Arlene Gumapac as members of the Audit and Inventory Committee.

UPMMPCI Chairperson Director Michael Gatela served as Presiding Officer of the 26th GA alongside fellow directors Jo-an Garcia, Analiza Fulvadora, and Lynda Buenaobra.

The Chairperson and officers presented their respective reports to the General Assembly, all of which were duly approved and adopted by the members. These included the reports of the Board of Directors and various committees—covering Membership and Education, Conciliation and Mediation, Election, Ethics, Gender and Development, Credit, Audit and Inventory—as well as the required mandatory reports. The Assembly also approved the operating budget for Calendar Year 2024, as presented by Ms. Analyn Pasaol, and acknowledged the proposed budget for 2025. In addition, Chairperson Gatela presented the proposed amendments to the Articles of Incorporation, the appointment of the external auditor for CY2025, and newly formulated policies addressing the findings of the recent CDA audit.

A representative from the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) witnessed the proceedings and, for her part, gave some coop sector updates.

Finally, new officers and members took their membership oaths, as administered by Chair Gatela, and dividends and patronage refunds were disbursed.

On the lighter side, raffles were held, and recognition was accorded to loyal patrons.
