The UP Mindanao Public Relations Unit (PRU) participated in the inaugural UP System Information and Communications Conference (ICCon), held at the UP Visayas Little Theater, Iloilo City Campus, on March 25-27, 2026. In the ICCon, the PRU received training on strengthening the UP brand through the UP visual identity, website features, typography, video production, storytelling, and crisis communication.
In addition, strategies and a strategic framework for social media and real-world events were discussed. Also, the importance of ongoing review and evaluation of a particular piece of media for growth and improvement was emphasized. In the Open Forum, the UPMin PRU shared experiences in relation to practices common among the UP Constituent Universities.
The inaugural ICCon served as an avenue to strengthen coordination among the communication offices of the UP constituent universities and the UP System for future endeavors. The conference also provided an opportunity for CUs to align directions and explore ways to support one another’s work across the System. Information officers, heads of units, and communication staff from various CUs across the country expressed their commitment to sharpen their aim to achieve the mandate of serving the people through the delivery of relevant news and public affairs services.
