
Prof. Karen Joyce G. Cayamanda of the Department of Humanities continues her opportunities for public service and networking for UP Mindanao in recent gatherings at her alma mater, UP Los Baños (UPLB) in October 2025.
At the recent Philippine Association of Communication Educators (PACE) conference and convention, Prof. Cayamanda was elected for the third term as a Trustee (first term as 2021-2023 Trustee and 2023-2025 VP for Mindanao). The induction of the PACE Board of Trustees for 2025-2027 was held during the 50th Anniversary Gala Night on October 25, 2025. The seat provides UP Mindanao and Mindanao, as a whole, with representation and networking opportunities through this nationwide organization that celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2025.
On the 107th UPLB Loyalty Day on October 10, 2025, Prof.Cayamanda attended as the newly elected President of the UPLB College of Public Affairs (CPAf) Alumni Association for 2025-2027. The position plays a vital role in creating the national registry of development professionals that is urgently needed by local, national, and international development organizations. Prof. Cayamanda is an alumna from the first batch of the off-site CPAf’s PhD in Development Studies hosted by UP Mindanao from 2015 to 2018.
