Members of the UP Mindanao Bids and Awards Committees (BAC) and Technical Working Groups familiarized themselves with Republic Act 12009, “The New Government Procurement Act,” through the “Seminar on RA 12009 and Implementing Rules and Regulations,” organized by the Government Association of Certified Public Accountants, Inc. (GACPA) in Davao City on September 17-19, 2025.
The UPMin group joined the estimated 800 persons who attended, from National Government Agencies (NGAs) and local government units within Region XI. The topics on Day 1 covered ethics and integrity in government, and the key provisions and implementing rules and regulations of RA 12009. Strategic procurement planning and modes of procurement were taken up on Day 2, while contract implementation, sanction mechanisms, and procurement through electronic means occupied Day 3.
