UP Mindanao is one with the UP community in observing the Day of Remembrance, in memory of Filipinos who led the resistance and defied Martial Law in the Philippines, which was imposed on September 21, 1972, until January 17, 1981. The UP community reserves this day to honor UP constituents who offered sacrifices and to educate present-day Filipinos of the values of academic freedom, civil liberties, and human rights in the Philippines.
The UP Mindanao Office of Student Affairs has prepared the following activities for the UP Day of Remembrance 2025:
Freedom Wall
- A space in the Freedom Wall Bulletin Board where constituents (faculty, staff, students) can post their messages and reflections on Martial Law, September 15-22, 2025
Friday Night Film Viewing
- Residents of the Elias B. Lopez Hall Dormitory will have a film viewing on the Martial Law Regime, September 19, 2025
