UPMin Officials Serve in AUN-QA Assessment Teams to Vietnamese Universities

Chancellor Lyre Anni E. Murao and Assoc. Prof. Ritchie May T. Gamot evaluated academic programs in Vietnamese universities as members of the ASEAN Universities Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Program Assessments, carried out from August 12 to 14, 2025. 

Chancellor Murao served as an Assessor in the 494th AUN-QA Program Assessment at the University of Economics﹘Technology for Industries (UNETI) located in Hanoi. Her team evaluated UNETI’s Bachelor of Accounting, Bachelor of Business Administration, and Engineer of Mechanical Engineering Technology. 

A UNETI website bulletin reported three days of “urgent, serious, responsible and effective work by the AUN-QA assessment team experts and all staff and lecturers of the School.”

Assoc. Prof. Gamot, director of UPMin’s Quality Assurance Office, served as Assessor in the 463rd AUN-QA Assessment at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH). Prof. Gamot’s team evaluated HUTEC’s Master of Tourism and Travel Management Program.

Chancellor Murao and Assoc. Prof. Gamot’s services as assessors contributes to UP Mindanao’s preparations for an upcoming AUN-QA assessment of two UPMin programs in 2026.

In 2024, UPMin earned AUN-QA accreditation for its BS Biology and BS Computer Science programs in the 392nd AUN-QA Assessment held on June 11-13, 2024.
