Faculty members of the Department of Biological Science and Environmental Studies (DBSES) of the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) welcomed the first batch of students of the new MS Biology (MSB) program through the MS Biology Student Orientation held on February 1, 2025.
A total of 12 students composed the pioneer batch of the program, of which 11 were present at the Orientation. The students come from various HEIs, such as the University of Southeastern Philippines, the University of Mindanao, San Pedro College, Northern Mindanao State College of S&T, and UP Mindanao.
Chancellor Lyre Anni Murao welcomed the pioneer students alongside the program faculty, namely (at back row, left-right) Dr. Rose Catiempo, Dr. Aleyla de Cadiz, Dean Cleto Nanola Jr., Dr. Lowela Siarot-Onggo, Chancellor Murao, department chair Dr. Junaldo Mantiquilla, Dr. Jayson Ibanez, and Dr. Marion John Michael Achondo.
Former colleagues Dr. Ruth Gamboa and Dr. Gilda Rivero sent greetings. “May you reap a number of good faculty members from them,” said Dr. Rivero.
